This tour sold out in exactly 1 week. It is so popular that we introduced a second session.
This May we are taking Escape Immerse Explore back to Montreal.
Since we last took a Tour to Montreal in October 2021, the market has only improved. The three top companies in the region have further refined their experiences and they are all working on new projects.

Escape Immerse Explore: Montreal 2023
Montreal is an artsy escape room market. The games on this tour combine detailed set design with puzzle-forward gameplay. You’ll enjoy some settings and stories you’ve likely seldom encountered, along with quirky game mechanics.
You’ll also experience some of the most impressive set design in North America. Escaparium is building at a scale that few would even think to rival.

FAQ
Why Montreal?
We took a trip to Montreal in 2019 and we absolutely loved the games. There was a uniqueness to each game that we played that struck a chord with us.
We were about halfway through the trip when we started thinking, “we might want to take a tour here.” We started planning this on the drive home at the end of the weekend.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to run that tour in 2020, as planned, but when the border reopened in the fall of 2021 we brought 60 people to experience the wonder of these games. We had an amazing time.
These creators have all continued to innovate and are excited to show you even more than magic and adventure than last time we were in town.
Are there any Golden Lock Award-winning games on this tour?
Yes!
Wrath of Poseidon at Sauve Qui Peut won a Golden Lock award in 2019.
The Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen at Escaparium and The Grand Immersia Hotel at Immersia won Golden Lock awards in 2020.
Rain Corp. at Escaparium and The Salutem Medicina Institute at Immersia won Golden Lock awards in 2022.
The Wizard Four and the Rise of Lord Thulsa at Escaparium is not officially on the tour. We aren’t using Escaparium’s Dorval location this time. However, it won a Golden Lock award in 2019 and you can visit it on your own while you are in town.
I’ve heard a lot about Wardrobe for Sale and Falderon Forest. Are they winners too?
Wardrobe for Sale at Escaparium and Falderon Forest at Sauve Qui Peut weren’t quite finished when we played them, so they weren’t eligible to win Golden Lock awards. However, they are both incredible games. We look forward playing them in their finished forms on this trip.
Do I need a passport?
Yes, you will need a valid passport to enter Canada.
You are responsible for your own border crossing.
You are responsible for your own border crossing.
You are responsible for your own border crossing.
If you are an American and you don’t have a passport yet, start that process early. It can take a while.
Can I buy a ticket as a Canadian?
Unfortunately, no, we can’t sell tickets to Canadians for this event in Canada. It’s complicated, not our fault, and has to do with our own visa requirements. Reach out to us anyway and we can explain.
Can I buy a ticket if I’ve already played games at these companies in Montreal?
That’s going to depend how much you’ve already played.
Contact us. We’ll make it work if we can.
Can I buy a ticket if I attended Escape Immerse Explore: Montreal in 2021?
No, you’ve already played too many of the games that we are featuring on this tour.
How will we get from game to game?
We will be going by bus to Sauve Qui Peut, as it’s about an hour from Laval, where we’ll be staying.
For the games in Laval and Boisbriand, Uber/ Taxi should suffice. You could also rent a car if you prefer. We have more detailed recommendations for transportation in the attendee documentation.
What is this “Laval/ Dorval/ Boisbriand/ Montreal” thing I keep reading?
All of these municipalities are suburbs of Montreal. Really this is more a tour of Montreal suburbs than it is the City itself.
Escaparium has 2 locations: Dorval and Laval. On their website the Dorval location is called “Montreal” and the Laval location is called “Laval.” On this tour, you’ll play games at their Laval location.
Immersia has 2 locations: Boisbriand and Laval. On this tour, you’ll play at the Boisbriand location.
Do I need to speak French?
No. All the escape rooms are 100% playable in English. They can also all be played in French, and you’ll see different ways of tackling bilingualism in escape rooms over the course of the tour.
Quebec is bilingual. Don’t be alarmed when people greet you by saying “bonjour – hi.” It’s a Montreal thing. They will also speak to you in English.
When do events start and end?
Session 1:
We will have an optional (but strongly encouraged!) casual welcome event on Saturday, May 6.
On Sunday morning (May 7) we will all board a bus very early in the morning to get to go to Sauve Qui Peut for the first day of escape rooms.
The last event is on Tuesday evening, likely pretty late.
Please plan your schedule so that you arrive on Saturday and leave on Wednesday. Otherwise you will miss part of the tour.
Session 2:
We will have an optional (but strongly encouraged!) casual welcome event on Monday, May 8.
On Tuesday morning (May 9) we will all board a bus very early in the morning to get to go to Sauve Qui Peut for the first day of escape rooms.
The last event is on Thursday evening, likely pretty late.
Please plan your schedule so that you arrive on Monday and leave on Friday. Otherwise you will miss part of the tour.
We will also have a joint event on Tuesday night so that folks from the two sessions can meet each other.
Will I get to choose which rooms I play?
No, but we’ll choose games specifically for you. You’ll fill out a fun pre-tour survey about your escape room preferences. We’re confident you’ll play a lot of games that you’ll love.
The most popular and impressive games in the region will appear on everyone’s schedule.
You’ll find out your escape room agenda far enough in advance that you can book additional games for yourself (at discounted prices) during the rest of your time in Montreal.
Can I choose my teammates?
If you purchase 2-3 tickets together, you’ll play all of your games together.
If you purchase a single ticket, you may flag 1 other person to play all of your games with. We guarantee this request will be honored… provided that you both request one another.
You may request as many people as you’d like to have on your team for at least a few games and we’ll honor these requests to the best of our ability.
Your pre-tour survey will also help us select teammates with whom we think you’ll gel.
You will only be able to request teammates who have tickets to the same session as you do.
I’m coming with a group of friends and we’re going to schedule additional rooms outside of the tour. Can you make sure we play the same schedule during the tour?
Yes. If you’re traveling in a group of 4 or more people, you won’t play all your games on the tour together, but we will arrange it so that you play all the same games as each other, even though you’ll play them at different times. This will simplify your scheduling for additional games outside of the tour.
In order to ensure this, you must tell us who you are traveling with in your pre-tour survey.
I don’t know anyone else coming. Will that be a problem?
Not at all. Coming alone is just an opportunity to meet new friends.
We’ll put you in groups with other escape room enthusiasts from far and wide.
How many people will be on each team?
You’ll play all your games in a team of 5 players.
What if I don’t like my teammates?
We will use the pre-tour surveys to group you with teammates whom we think you’ll enjoy playing with. On past tours, many groups loved playing together so much that they booked additional rooms together at the end of the tour.
That said, we will vary your teammates. You likely won’t play more than 2 or 3 games with the exact same team.
What should I do about airfare and hotels?
Your ticket does not cover travel or lodging. We are setting up a hotel block in Laval. Hotel block information will be emailed to ticket purchasers soon.
Are meals included in the ticket price?
No, but we will provide snacks and water at the escape rooms and recommendations for convenient meals and local cuisine.
I can’t make it those dates. Will you run this tour again?
We can’t really say. We are planning to run additional tours, but they may go to other destinations.
What about New Orleans? Will you run that tour again?
We just ran a New Orleans tour in fall 2022. It’s too soon to say if/ when we’d run it again, but the chances are good.
I’ve been on all your tours. When will you run a tour to a new destination?
We’re planning to go to a new destination in the fall of 2023. Stay tuned.
I’m an escape room owner/ employee or immersive experience designer. Can I participate?
Yes! All are welcome.
I have nothing to do with the escape room industry. I just want to play all the games! Can I participate?
Yes! Really… all are welcome.
Can I buy a ticket for someone under 18?
Unfortunately, no. All participants must be 18 years of age at the start of the tour.
This is an insurance thing.
I’m concerned about the uncertainty around COVID-19. Should I buy a ticket?
This is the world we have to operate in now. We do our best to remain aware and adaptable, and support the needs of all guests. If you are high risk, know that a tour is a social event, and make the right decision for you.
Is there a COVID-19 vaccination requirement?
Yes. To attend this event, you must be fully vaccinated.
This means that at the time you are attending the event it has been at least fourteen (14) days since you have a current, fully vaccinated status with a COVID-19 vaccine series authorized by the FDA or by the WHO, such as the Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, or AstraZeneca vaccines.
Upon arrival at the event all FULLY VACCINATED attendees MUST provide proof of vaccination directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination (whether a physical copy or on a smartphone) OR through the use of approved verification app.
Can I sponsor an Escape Immerse Explore event?
Contact us about sponsorship opportunities.
