Room Escape Artist

We first met Arlo when they worked on the Golden Lock Award-winning experience Order of the Golden Scribe in New York City last winter.

Now we’re excited to welcome them to the RECON Los Angeles stage! Their talk is Creating Gameplay Beyond the Win-Lose Binary.

The win-lose scenario is limiting. It decreases customer satisfaction. In Arlo’s talk, they explore other gameplay options and their potential business and creative impact.

Plus, if you haven’t seen Order of the Golden Scribe yet, you still can! It’s running again now at a new venue in New York City. Performances are Saturdays and Sundays through March 30.

Arlo Howard (They/Them) is an international award winning, non-binary creator working at the intersection of theatre and games.

Their work focuses on creating positive change and learning through playful theatrical experiences and games.

Arlo is the former Artistic Director of Chicago’s (re)discover theatre, and a current Associate Artists with Coney. Their work spans full-building immersive take overs, intimate one-on-one experiences, pop-up escape rooms, and city-wide adventures. They recently worked on “The Burnt City” with Punchdrunk and are the director/ creator of “The Order of the Golden Scribe”.
