“It’s remarkable what happens when you stop practicing and spend a little bit of time teaching people.“
Do you own an escape room? Do you have a skillset that applies to immersive gaming experiences, such as game designer, prop maker, or tech expert? Are you an aspiring escape room creator? Are you an escape room enthusiast looking to take a deep dive into the craft and see behind the scenes of these remarkable games?
If the answer to any of these questions is YES, then RECON LA is perfect for you. Programming Lead Lee-Fay Low and Games Lead Theresa Wagner join us to break down everything you need to know about our escape room convention.

We talk about new changes to the format of the convention, which has been designed to ensure that every attendee has a chance to see and play everything offered. We tease some of the main stage talks and speakers, and we also discuss some of the incredible experiences guests will be able to enjoy, including Imagi-Ne’er Do-Wells & The 49 Boxes.
If you’re on the fence about attending RECON LA, hopefully this episode will help you decide to join in. If you’ve already bought a ticket, this episode will give a sense of what to expect and help you maximize your time at RECON.
We’re thrilled to explore all things escape rooms this summer at RECON Los Angeles. The event is August 18th & 19th, 2024. I hope to see you there!

About Lee-Fay Low

Lee-Fay is coordinating the RECON talks and discussions. She spends a lot of time thinking about how people experience things, and how to improve that experience. Her day job is as a psychologist and researcher.
You can find her simultaneously on the Escape Room Discord, walking the coast of Sydney, baking, knitting, and wishing she was playing more games.
About Theresa Wagner

Theresa is a chaotic neutral goblin from Washington, DC, who has trusted strangers to lock her in rooms way too many times. When not trying the same code 8 times in a directional lock (of course the combo is right!), she can be found playing Warhammer, video games, board games, Magic the Gathering, or looking up videos of Mariachi bands playing for beluga whales. She used to compete in Super Smash Brothers Melee and Rainbow 6 Siege, but now focuses her video game energy on speedrunning, including Portal 2 and Sly Cooper. Oh, and she also has a bird named Wally.
