We try to keep our escape room directory up to date year round, but every so often, we ask for your help. It’s that time again. You know your local escape room market best. Can you please help us out?

This directory is important because it provides the historical data for our annual industry report. Our most recent report was published in December 2024, and we expect the next one will be available at the end of the year.

Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, the Room Escape Artist Escape Room Directory connects new companies to our community. Whenever we add a new facility to the directory, we email that company to let them know about REA’s industry resources and invite them to connect with our wonderful community of escape room creators and players. The outreach associated with this directory is driver of community growth.

Right now, we’re hoping some of these new entrants to our industry will join us at RECON Remote next month!

How to Review Your Local Area*

If you (yes, you!) could take a few minutes to check our directory for your local area, or any area where you know the escape room market, we’d really appreciate it.

Here’s how:

  1. Click the “Find a Room” top level menu on the Room Escape Artist website. (Or click here.)
  2. Scroll down to the map with pins, followed by a listing of escape rooms.
  3. Click the “By Address” button (below the listings).
  4. Type your city or your ZIP code. Select the radius you think you’ll be familiar with. Click “ok.”
  5. Take a look at the zoomed in map and/ or list and look for inaccuracies.

*The REA directory only covers the United States. It does not include mobile escape rooms or physical venues offering exclusively VR or online escape rooms.

Check For the Following Issues

Our directory lists escape room facilities. These are permanent physical locations where you can go play real-life escape rooms in person. This is the information we’re most interested in updating:

Newly opened facilities: Let us know of facilities that we are missing. If a new company opens and they don’t reach out to us, we might not have them. This also includes new locations that opened recently by established companies. Please double check that new facilities you tell us about aren’t already included in our directory.

Permanently closed facilities: If you know of facilities that have closed recently, we’d like to remove them from the directory. Please double check that you don’t find them in our directory. (If you search “By Text” you can search facilities by the name of the company.)

Outdated information: If you notice any wrong information with any facility listing, please let us know. Typical issues include:

  • Outdated URL – If they’ve changed their URL (especially if they didn’t redirect an old link), we might have a dead link.
  • New name – With mergers and acquisitions, we see a lot of name changes. Or sometimes a company rebrands. It’s also possible that you’ll spot a typo.
  • New address – It’s especially hard for us to catch when a company moves its location.

Check Your Own Company

If you’re an escape room owner or employee reading this, please double check your own company’s facility/ facilities.

You can use the search “By Text” button and type in your company name. Click “ok.” Then click on the pin or the listing that comes up (hopefully there’s a listing!) and you can verify the address and URL more easily. You’ll also see links to any reviews that we’ve written.
