Understanding fire code is essential for escape room professionals.

At this year’s Reality Escape Convention, we brought in Lori Greene, a world renowned expert in fire safety doors and hardware to help our audience learn.

The good news is, even if you missed RECON, you can watch Lori’s talk right now on YouTube. And you can get access to the rest of the RECON 25 talks now by supporting Room Escape Artist on Patreon.

Everything You Need To Know

Working with Lori to produce this speaker session was a joy; the depth and breadth of her knowledge is incredible.

Throughout the process, she worked to make a talk that would help both escape room owners and code officials understand the nuts and bolts of the various fire and building codes that impact escape room creators.

The goal is to demystify fire and building code, and help provide context, knowledge, and tools to help every escape room creator get their doors open.

If you are a professional in the escape room space or want to become one, Lori’s talk is essential viewing.

Lori also created a page on her own website with additional resources specifically for folks from the escape room world.

More Videos From RECON 25

Given the nature of Lori’s talk we elected to get this talk up on our YouTube channel as quickly as possible.

The rest of the videos from RECON 25 are releasing now on our Patreon page for backers at the $5 level and above. While all of the other talks will eventually become available on the Room Escape Artist YouTube channel, the only way to get them now is to help support us and our mission over on Patreon.

I truly believe that our RECON 25 speaker sessions are the strongest complete set of escape room talks that we have had in 6 years of running the convention. They covered both the design and business of producing escape rooms and immersive games. I hope that you find them entertaining and educational.

What’s Special on Patreon

First, you get the talks now. They won’t be released on YouTube until later this year.

The first three talks are already available on Patreon. The next one will posted tonight, and we’ll continue release one each day.

On Patreon you’re getting the talk with the recording of the live Q&A. With the exception of Lori’s Q&A, the Q&A segments will not be posted to YouTube.

We’re also including recordings of David and Lisa’s live day-end wraps on Patreon. These will not be released elsewhere.

When you support Room Escape Artist on Patreon, you get so much more then access to the talks. You get lots of other bonus content, and you become a sustaining part of our community.
