Theresa is our REPOD producer. She’s also the Chief Operating Officer for Great Gotham Challenge, known for their spectacle-filled, puzzle-solving races across New York City, many of which take players for the most unexpected and awe-inspiring places. REA Contributors have played, reviewed, (and loved!) many GGC challenges over the years.
Theresa has been at almost every RECON (remote and in person), in a number of different roles, but you might not have seen her because she was behind-the-scenes, making the magic happen. At RECON Laval, we are so excited to welcome Theresa to the stage, to share her expertise with all of you.
About Theresa
Theresa Piazza has turned a lifelong love of puzzles into a career in immersive entertainment. She is the COO of the Great Gotham Challenge, where she helps design and produce large-scale puzzle adventures that transform New York City into a playground for curious minds.
She also contributes to Room Escape Artist, writing about escape rooms and immersive experiences and producing REPOD, a podcast dedicated to the craft and community of immersive entertainment.
Theresa’s hobbies look suspiciously similar to her job: puzzle hunts, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, and collaborative board games. When she’s not puzzling, you can usually find her outside—SCUBA diving, paddle boarding, rollerblading, or birding.
