There is no better place to play more high quality games than Los Angeles… as long as you’re willing to drive.

The Los Angeles metro area is big, and the games are spread out. You’ll need a car. There will be traffic.

But it will be worth it. The best games are theatrical, experiential, and innovative. There are unique themes, interesting characters, and engaging puzzles.

There are so many incredible games that you can’t play them all.

If you’re planning a trip for escape rooms, dedicate at least 1 full day to each of the 3 major regions: Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Inland Empire. The first section of this guide is by region to help you organize your trip.

In the second section of the guide, we categorize the games by other factors such as family-friendly, optimal team size, and horror level. This region has a lot of horror, so we separated creepy vibes (probably approachable to most players) from games designed to scare you. Note that in this second section of the guide, the games can be pretty far from each other. The region is quite spread out.

On REPOD, co-hosts Peih-Gee Law and David Spira interview immersive gaming creators about the nuance of their craft.

Terry Pettigrew-Rolapp & Tommy Wallach are the creative minds and owners of Hatch Escapes. They approach escape rooms from a writer’s perspective, with an eye towards unique interactions. Terry and Tommy joined Peih-Gee and David during Season 7 for a deep dive into escape room storytelling.

Luke & Madison Rhoades of Cross Roads Escape Games have made some of the most innovative and format-breaking escape rooms in the world. In this episode of REPOD, we break down the brilliance behind their games and what makes them unique.

Al & Stacy Delcome of Confusion Escapes discussed their meticulous build approach and emphasis on safety when they joined us during Season 7.

Blake Hodges-Koch & Thomas Meston created an escape room-esque immersive experience filled with secrets and puzzles in the Joshua Tree desert. Wild Heart Ranch is a magical Airbnb that contains a story that comes alive and characters that become real.

The Ministry of Peculiarities creators, Adam Moody, Jonathan Berk, and Benjamin Berk joined REPOD during Season 7 to talk about their quirky brand of escape room design.

During Season 6, Peih-Gee and David sat down with Christine Barger (aka The Haunt Girl) to talk about the importance of social media marketing for escape rooms and immersive experiences.

The Nest is an intimate, memorable immersive experience that is a masterclass in environmental storytelling. We were lucky enough to talk with Jeff Leinenveber and Jarrett Lantz, the creators of The Nest.
