Starting this month, you’ll see Golden Lock Awards announced more frequently, and with more fanfare. Here’s how it will work, and why we’ve made such a big change.

It’s a missed opportunity to wait months to celebrate an exceptional escape game. So we won’t wait, we’ll bestow accolades throughout the year.
Over the last 10 years, we’ve reviewed almost 2,000 games at Room Escape Artist. We work hard to be in tune with the industry every day, aware of how different creators are pushing boundaries, introducing new mechanics, and iterating on the format. We feel confident that as a team, we can assess a winning game at the time of writing the review, instead of as a reflection on the past year.
How to Find the Winners
The winners are highlighted in our Regional Recommendations Guides and Remote Recommendations Guides.
Companies with winning games are also highlighted in our Directory of US Escape Rooms.
