Escape Rooms are a part of the broader immersive industry. When the immersive industry puts out a survey, it’s our opportunity to share our experiences: as consumers, creators, or potential creators.
The Immersive Experience Institute, co-founded by our friends at No Proscenium, is partnering with Gensler’s Entertainment and Experience Design to produce the next Immersive Experience Industry Report in Q1 of 2025.
One important step toward this report is survey participation. The Immersive Experience Industry Surveys (yes, multiple!) are now available. Please support this research by filling out a survey.

Find Your Survey
If you create, produce or work in immersive experiences take the Practitioner Survey.
If you attend immersive experiences take the Audience Survey.
If you or your company is interested in producing Immersive Experiences but haven’t taken the leap yet, take the Immersive Curious Survey.
You can take multiple surveys in your different roles in this industry.
Deadlines
The deadline for the Practitioner Survey is September 25, 2024 at 11:59pm Pacific.
The deadline for the Audience Survey and the Immersive Curious Survey is October 2, 2024 at 11:59pm Pacific.
Note: Survey responses are anonymous and will only be reported in aggregate. They do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) (unless you choose to identify yourself), and no one will be able to identify you based on your answers. Only Immersive Experience Institute staff and their partners at Gensler will have access to the raw data, which will be used for the sole purpose of making publicly available reports.
Why This Matters
By collecting data, we can better understand the successes and weaknesses of this industry and work together to grow it.
While this is not a Room Escape Artist project, we support this work and The Immersive Experience Institute, and try to guide it as best we can.
Escape rooms are immersive experiences. The questions might not always feel like they were written for you, as the industry is broad and immersive work means different things to different people. It’s hard to write questions that make sense to every type of practitioner and consumer. Please do your best to answer everything from your own perspective.
You voice matters. If you’re reading Room Escape Artist today, one (or more) of these surveys is the right fit for you.
