“The best worst escape room company in the world.”

We’ve all seen horror movies that started exactly this way. A carefree group of friends find themselves stuck in Atlanta after their puzzle hunt is canceled. “Let’s go play a local escape room,” they decide. As they drive deeper and deeper into the quiet countryside, a few start to have misgivings. However, bolstered by a sense of adventure and a hankerin’ to get their escape room fix, these friends finally make it to Escape Woods, only to find that things are not as expected.

Lisa Spira joins us for this month’s Spoilers Club, and along with David, she recounts their visit to Escape Woods in Atlanta, Georgia, which is now closed. They tell us about the dubious setting. In fact, this escape room company is located on a farm out in the middle of nowhere, and they have to literally hike to the escape room. The sets are extremely authentic. What feels like a wild, overgrown, abandoned place, is quite literally a wild, overgrown place.

But, along with the deteriorating set is a real sense of adventure flavored with a hint of danger and quite possibly tetanus. While this may not have been the best escape room company, it certainly was one of the most memorable. This company is now closed, so feel free to take a listen without fear of spoilers.
