Alice’s White Rabbit Rescue was colorful, charming, and filled with things to do. You don’t have to be a fan of Lewis Carroll to enjoy the room, but there were a lot of references for those who are.

The biggest issue I had with this escape room was that it opened with its weakest set and puzzles. Once the game progressed it became a delightfully handmade world that was a blast to explore.

There was a large and varied amount of puzzles, which were themed and clued well such that we never had a moment where we were stuck, wondering what to do next. The smooth game flow would make it both satisfying for experienced players and an excellent choice for those with little or no escape room experience.

Story

Alice had asked us to house-sit for her. When we arrived we discovered her pet rabbit had gone missing and had to be found by tea time.

Setting

Alice’s White Rabbit Rescue started off in a small study or parlor, which then opened up into a charming and colorful world.

Gameplay

Twisted Room Escapes’ Alice’s White Rabbit Rescue was a standard escape room with a moderate level of difficulty.

Core gameplay revolved around searching, making connections, and solving puzzles.

Analysis

➕ The large variety of puzzles were mapped well, so it was easy to determine which clues went to which puzzle. In a larger group it would be difficult to be a part of every puzzle, but there were enough of them that there was always something to do.

➖ The first room was compact and there wasn’t much to see or do.

➕ After the first room, there was a unique and fun transition that fit the narrative well and opened up into an expansive, colorful room filled with numerous handmade props and scenery.

➖ A couple of the puzzles had clues/ reveals which were quite small and easy to miss.

➕ The game ended with a satisfying and charming reveal.

➕ Twisted Room Escapes created a minigame (available in all their escape rooms) where poker chips were hidden in the room that could be redeemed for a spin on a prize wheel upon completion of the room. This added excitement to searching the room and the chips were placed near clues and puzzles, offering a subtle hint system.

➖A water feature in the room was not chlorinated – easy to fix, but a potential safety issue.
