Indianapolis, Indiana: Escape Room Recommendations

Latest update: July 2, 2023

Indianapolis is home to Gen Con, the largest tabletop game convention in North America by both attendance and number of events. Given that, each summer it hosts a lot of traveling escape room players. And the good news is, it has the volume of solid games to support this influx of game lovers!

The Escape Room Indianapolis has multiple locations around the city, including in Indianapolis, Westfield, and Fishers, with welcoming venues, each with lots of games.

For the most part, the escape rooms in Indianapolis were pretty by-the-book escape rooms (with the exception of The Key Escape Rooms). They won’t wow you with innovative ideas, but they will give you 60 minutes of fun, puzzley adventure.

If you have the time, it’s worth driving 2 hours west to Champaign-Urbana, IL, where you can visit the hidden gems at Champaign-Urbana Adventures in Time and Space.

Of note, if you are traveling to Indianapolis for Gen Con, the creators behind CU Adventures typically produce an experience for Gen Con, and it tends to sells out quickly, so grab those tickets asap.
