London was the home of Time Run (The Lance of Longinus 🔒& The Celestial Chain 🔒), an escape room venue ahead of its time, that set the standard for high end escape room globally.

Since then, London has evolved into a puzzle-focused escape room market with something to offer tourists, newbies, and enthusiasts alike.

But above all else, London is home to Phantom Peak. This is not an escape room, but it is the immersive gaming venue to visit while you’re in London. It’s not always open – they seasonally rotate in new content – but if it’s operating while you visit London, this is a must-see experience.

Fear of the Unknown 🔒 at Enigma Escape Cornwall in England, casts players as Miskatonic University investigators recovering stolen relics from a creepy old house in Arkham. While the story draws on Lovecraft, you don’t need to know his work to enjoy it.

Located in the countryside of South Wales, The Key of Dreams is an overnight experience that blends immersive acting, narrative-driven exploration, puzzle solving, and fine dining into a Lovecraftian drama.

The Rubicon 🔒 at Roomsmiths in Plymouth, England describes itself as a “third generation interactive video game inspired escape room”. Inspired by the video game Portal, The Rubicon features inventive, funny, and fair puzzles that put a spin on classic escape room mechanics, while also translating various video game puzzle formats into the tactile world.

REPOD

On REPOD, co-hosts Peih-Gee Law and David Spira interview immersive gaming creators about the nuance of their craft.

It turns out indie filmmaking and creating escape rooms have a lot in common, and James Hamer-Morton and Charlie Bond of Deadlocked Escape Rooms in Reading, UK know this better than anyone. They joined us during Season 11 to talk about their quirky, puzzle driven games.
