Room Escape Artist

The 2024 Golden Lock Award winners will be announced on April 30, 2024, with a livestreamed award show.

This award honors our favorite escape experiences each year. It’s a collaborative effort where the Room Escape Artist contributors nominate games, craft words to highlight just how each escape room excels in its craft, and record videos announcing the winners.

We love celebrating incredible escape rooms and we are so excited to bring you this year’s winners.

Not only that… but this year, we’ll be honoring some exceptional games retroactively, because starting in May, this award is changing. Tune in to find out where we go from here.

The 2023 Golden Lock Awards livestream will stream on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 9pm Eastern.

What to Expect

During the Golden Lock Awards show, we’ll honor games all sorts of escape games:

• Real-Life
• Online
• Tabletop
• Events (This category was introduced in 2023.)

We’ll also honor some experiences that don’t quite fit into these categories, given the ways they creatively push the boundaries of our industry.

Finally, we’ll honor games that missed this award for various reasons in the past, so that we can fully turn our attention to where this award goes in the future.
