Enchantment was a charming escape room with a fairyland theme that initiated us into its universe by having us step through a magical portal. That sense of wonder only was expanded upon as we took in the beautifully appointed set with floor-to-ceiling details.

My team of 5 puzzlers had a fun time taking on the various parallel puzzle paths that were woven into the room, organically splitting up when appropriate and working collaboratively when necessary. The puzzles ranged from easy to medium difficulty, which would make Enchantment an excellent choice for players young and old, all of whom would enjoy the fantastical theme.
Who is this for?
- Puzzle lovers
- Scenery snobs
- Any experience level
Why play?
- This game had a lovely theme appropriate for all ages, with enough variety in puzzle difficulty to engage both children and adults.
Story
We accidentally stumbled upon a magical portal into the world of the fairies. Solving their challenges would demonstrate our worthiness to be granted one wish.

Setting
Enchantment had a beautiful forest fairyland set. Every surface was adorned with organic botanical or stone textures, complemented by numerous wooden structures.

Gameplay
Red Door Escape Room’s Enchantment was a standard escape room with a low-to-moderate level of difficulty.
There was light searching, traditional logic puzzles, and discovery puzzles where we had to figure out how to use the various puzzle elements that were available.
Analysis
➕ The set was beautiful. A cute starting moment got us in the right frame of mind.
❓Enchantment was a single-room game, which the gamemaster made sure we were aware of as we were going in. I did not consider it an issue, as it was spacious and I kept discovering things to love about the gorgeous set!
➕ The puzzles were not difficult and would be fun for family groups.
➖ There were a couple of sealed crates of items that served no eventual puzzle purpose, but were accessible through the side slats. I managed to maneuver one item out, and it was a fragile glass bowl that could easily have been broken by a child. Reconstructing the crates to be more secure would remove these accidental red herrings.
➕ I appreciated the ending scene, which recalled the wish we had earned and offered a fitting complement to the game’s beginning.
Tips For Visiting
- There was street parking, but there were also public parking garages within walking distance of the venue.
- Red Door Emeryville was located in a shopping district and there were numerous eating establishments within walking distance.
