Any game that allows me to pretend I’m an adorable cartoon creature embarking on a perilous journey home across a brilliant rainbow-colored world is an A+ in my book.
Boobano Farm offered delight, hilarity, and childlike wonder at every turn. The puzzling was “collaborative chaos” and required strong communication between players, yet still offered players some opportunities to shine individually. There was one interaction that I felt dragged and didn’t have enough in it to keep our large team engaged. It was immediately redeemed by easily one of my favorite online game sequences to date, where we raced to escape the reach of some unexpected enemies.
I’ve thought about Boobano Farm several times since I’ve played it, and it still makes me smile. It was an outstanding effort clearly created with love and with a deep understanding that the world needs a little silliness and fun right now. Bravo, Mad Genius Escape Co! Keep ’em coming.

Simply put: Boobano Farm was adorable! The game was a charming mix of low-fi hand-drawn graphics, a fun narrative, and enjoyable team-based challenges. We were taken on a magical journey to try and rescue the mythical creatures through a series of collaborative tasks and puzzles. I wouldn’t really classify this as an escape room, per se, but it does employ many similar deduction and logic skills. This is a great room for families, teams, or just fun-loving friends. Definitely recommend!

With Mad Genius’ The Truth About Edith still in my quarantine top 3, I went into Boobano Farm with high expectations for whimsical puzzling and innovative collaborative gameplay, and the game certainly did not disappoint. While Boobano Farm doesn’t quite match the level of personalized interactivity and charm that made The Truth About Edith shine, it manages to translate a similar flavor from a 4-player game to an 8-16 player one, instantly shooting it toward the top of a category in which there’s still relatively little serious competition. Puzzles were presented as a linear sequence of smoothly designed minigames, though (speaking as a puzzle designer) there were moments where the puzzle substance felt a bit arbitrary and more layered or intentional puzzle design could have led to more climactic aha moments, without affecting the difficulty or feel of the solving process. Boobano Farm features an adorable MS Paint-y art style, is built with robust synchronous multiplayer tech, and would be a delightful hour of fun for families, corporate groups, and escape room enthusiasts alike.

If you’re looking for a game that embodies chaos Boobano Farm is the game for you, but this game is not for everyone. In terms of large team size, this game works wonders with such a high minimum number of players. The interactions are in real-time, chaotic, and confusing, which just adds to the fun of the game. The game would be nearly impossible without players who are very fluent in English, or with only players who know little to nothing about pop culture, as there are puzzles that rely on these things. To me, this game was an absolute blast, and is one of the best options for large groups!

I don’t know what I was expecting as a followup game from the folks behind The Truth About Edith, but it certainly wasn’t the delightful and adorable madness that was Boobano Farm. This nutty collaborative puzzle video game was wrapped in a story that had dangerous levels of cuteness. I could barely handle it.
The puzzles were novel and heavily varied, but had one thing in common: we had to work as a team to solve them. Did I love every puzzle? Nope. I was happy to sit back through a couple of them and quietly support the team.
Was I thrilled to play this game? Absolutely. The team-focused gameplay, bonkers story, and overall execution made this a must-play.
