Immersive Gaming Sessions
Along with REPOD co-host Peih-Gee Law, David and I will host a kick-off session on immersive gaming, and the following panels & fireside talks:
Immersive Gaming Meets Experiential Marketing
What do Escape Rooms have to do with a Tom Clancy movie on Amazon Prime? Is that store really giving away free stuff?
Juliana Moreno Patel and Ariel Rubin of The Wild Optimists are joined by Jay Rinksy of Little Cinema and Terence Leclere of Metaforyou to discuss how some of the biggest brands and media companies in the world (e.g., Amazon, Warner Bros., Disney) are using immersive gaming, interactive platforms, and immersive pop-ups to make a splash with audiences inundated by attention grabbing ads that just don’t hold attention anymore.
Next Level Immersive Escape Rooms
A conversation with Brian Corbitt creator of Miss Jezebel, an immersive actor-driven escape room, and owner/ operator/ designer of part of the 60Out franchise in Los Angeles in conversation with Tommy Honton, co-creator of the award-winning Stash House escape room in LA. The pair will share their insight into integrating performance, storytelling, and experience design expertise into creating escape rooms that leave guests talking long after the game is over.
Meet Brian by listening REPOD S2E6 Puppets, Haunts, & Pranks
Meet Tommy by listening to REPOD S3E7 Adrenaline Mapping and Escape Room Design
Fireside Talk: Andrew Preble of ERGO on Organizing Independent Escape Room Operators
Andrew Preble (Escape My Room, New Orleans) will talk about the efforts of the non-profit ERGO to help independent escape room operators lobby for support from the Small Business Administration as part of the pandemic recovery efforts and the long term efforts of the new group to lobby on behalf of owners and operators. In conversation with Tommy Honton, an ERGO co-founder.
Liveplay & The Making of Mister & Mischief’s Escape From Godot
Join the Room Escape Artist team & friends and watch as they play through Festival Selection, the near-mythic Escape From Godot from Mister & Mischief. A rare chance to see a session unfold as its played and then dive right into a making of conversation with the creators Jeff & Andy Crocker live on the set of the production. Immersive gaming creators won’t want to miss this rare format event.
Beyond Immersive Gaming
The Next Stage Summit hosts an impressive array of speakers from across immersive entertainment disciplines including Jonny Grant, Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Dept. Studios (Arkham Asylum), artist Risa Puno (Superblue) (and known for Privilege of Escape), Sarah Ellis (Director of Digital Development, the Royal Shakespeare Company), director Mikhael Tara Garver, the authors of the Immersive Industry Annual Report, and themed entertainment wizards from Walt Disney Imagineering, with more still to be announced.
